Was browsing CraigsList out of boredom. Nice price or crack pipe? Not the most desirable motor but still. $3,500 takes it. Thoughts, oppo?

No problems there; just add another 't' that you find from a junkyard and you're gold.

Not too bad if the motor and transmission are in good running condition. I would just check over all the panels real and make sure it is not an absolute rust bucket

I'm usually pretty wary of buying other people's projects since most of the time I've found you'll spend most of your time fixing their fuck-ups. It looks like its had some rust repair too so I'd want to take a close look at the body in person with a magnet. It would also be nice to know the motor's history. Was it rebuilt at any point? A lot of guys will buy a motor from some importer and just drop it in without really giving the motor a good once over. Sometimes they're sludge-filled time bombs.
That said...it is a pretty solid looking 240Z with a pretty much complete running RB motor in it.

Know it. Live it. Be it.
I do not like seeing what appears to be epoxy primer down low.

Other than the rust...which you're going to get with all of them...I like the idea of a 4 cylinder. The 6's are way to heavy and you can get a ton of power out of the RB20. Better weight distribution as well. F20 or F22 C would be even better.

Well, as someone how has had these and worked on them, you can pay a little bit more and probably find one thats better. He says the rear panels are cheap, if he means the body then its not a panel, its the car. If he means the hatch, which on these can rust all the way down the back, yes you can replace them, can you do body work? If not all that has been quoted to people I know for $800. No Paint, can you paint a car? I wouldn't go cheap with a Datsun because you need to protect it, they rust. I don't know, it looks like a box of receipts to me. I see some for sale in decent shape that have good paint etc. The dog legs rust, you can't see it from the outside most of the time, it rusts on the inner layers well before it ever shows. In my experience its better to pay a bit more up front and find a halfway decent car, this would be good if you can/will do a lot of work yourself on the things I mentioned, I think you'll end up paying more than what a decent car would be without bad issues, but it depends how nice you want it to be.
